Varkala
Beaches don't get better than this! Varkala, situated in south Kerala is a photographer's paradise, with cliffs overlooking the Arabian sea in an otherwise flat coastline. Numerous water sprouts and spas dot the sides of these cliffs, also known as the 'Varkala formation' (declared a geological monument by Geological survey of India). Varkala is famous for its beach resort that offers a fantastic all-round experience for a visitor and is especially popular among foreign travelers. This place is also famous for the 3500 year old Janardanaswamy temple which has an ancient ball removed from a shipwreck, donated by the captain of the Dutch vessel which sank near Varkala without causing any casualities.
